What will I look like immediately following my procedure? Permanent Cosmetics, micropigmentation, or cosmetic tattooing is the art of implanting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. Who can benefit from Permanent Cosmetics? People with…
A topical anesthetic is used before and during the procedure. This makes the procedure very tolerable for most people. Is permanent cosmetic makeup a tattoo? Yes, permanent cosmetic makeup is a tattoo! However, a delicate precision rotary machine is used with high-grade cosmetic pigments. These pigments are made from iron oxides, which yield a variety of colors. The length of time that permanent cosmetics last varies from person to person, depending on many factors. One factor includes the color of pigment used in the procedure. Lighter pigments will tend to fade sooner than darker pigments. Other factors that play a role are proper after-care (keeping the treated area moist with Vaseline for 5 days), and using sunscreen. Initially, your permanent cosmetics will be darker than they will be after the healing process. The outer layer will exfoliate during the first 5-7 days causing a loss of intensity and a softening of the color. Allow a 10% to 30% fade during this time. Will I need to have a touch up? All clients should return for a touch up appointment between 4-8 weeks after the procedure. Any pigment that was lost during the healing process can be replaced then. What type of procedures do you offer? Eyeliner/ Eyelash Enhancement - A fine line can be created to add definition to your eyes. Making your lashes appear full and thick, or you can have a more definite liner applied. Color and thickness is individualized. Eyebrows - Depending on the amount of existing brow hair you have, a customized brow is designed to enhance your natural beauty. Lip Color - Lip liner is perfect for defining a natural lip line, correcting asymmetry, and reshaping lips. Full lip color can give you a more made-up appearance if that is what you prefer. It can also make your lips appear larger and fuller. Areola Pigmentation - for those who have undergone a breast reconstruction the final stage is pigmentation of the nipple and areola. If a unilateral reconstruction was done the areola is pigmented to match the natural areola complex. Scar camouflage - Once a scar has turned white a mixture of pigments to match surrounding skin is implanted to blend the skin naturally. What will I look like following my procedure? You may have some redness and swelling so plan your schedule accordingly. Most swelling will resolve within a couple days, but you will need to keep the treated area moist with Vaseline for 5 days. We meet the highest standards for safety, and sterilization. Only single use disposable needles are used during our procedures and are handled in accordance with strict OSHA regulations and guidelines. All other pieces of machine hardware are autoclaved after every use. |
