  • Gently apply petroleum jelly to affected area three times a day. The area should be kept moist and shiny at all times during the healing process.
  • Expect some swelling and redness during the 48-72 hours following the procedure.
  • To reduce swelling, apply ice to the area during the first 24-48 hours (about 15-20 minutes each hour while awake). Be sure to use a barrier between the bag of ice and your face (a dry wash cloth is suitable).

THINGS YOU MUST AVOID FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE:

  • Do not apply make-up.
  • Do not expose area to sun/tanning beds.
  • Do not apply soaps, cleansers, moisturizers, oils, make-up removers, or sunscreen.
  • Do not apply Retin-A, Accutane, or glycolic acid products.
  • Do not sit in a sauna.
  • Do not swim in a Jacuzzi, or in a chlorinated pool.
  • Do not pick, peel, or touch the affected areas.
